Hyderabad, Oct 19 (Reporter) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy emphasized the crucial role played by police personnel in the formation of the state, acknowledging their contributions during a speech at the conclusion of the three-day Police Duty Meet held at the Telangana Police Academy on Saturday evening. Commending the efforts to inspire the state's police force, Reddy stated, "The role of our police brothers in the formation of Telangana will never be forgotten, especially the sacrifice of Police Krishnaiah." He emphasized that being a police officer is more than just a job—it is an emotion tied to service, honour, and sacrifice. "The reputation of the police department enhances the prestige of the state government. Even a small mistake can tarnish the government’s image, but it is because of our police that citizens feel safe and secure," Reddy said. The Chief Minister further highlighted the link between law enforcement and economic development, stating, "Investment only comes to a state where peace and security are well maintained. The contributions of our police force have helped Hyderabad develop into an international city." Addressing the welfare of police personnel, the CM announced plans to establish a Young India Police School for the children of police officers. "We have allocated 50 acres for the school, and it will open in the next academic year. The school will initially offer classes from 5th to 8th grade, expanding in future phases," he said. "We want to create an institution that students and their families can take pride in, saying, 'We studied at the police school.'" Reddy also urged the Telangana Police to set an example for law enforcement across the country. He called for strict action against drug and ganja suppliers and emphasized the importance of curbing cybercrime. "In the cases of drugs and cybercrime, offenders should face severe consequences," he stressed. Speaking directly to the unemployed youth of Telangana, Reddy reassured them that the government is committed to filling vacant positions. "We are replacing all the jobs that were delayed for ten years under the previous government. Despite facing numerous challenges, we have completed the job-filling process," he stated. Reddy urged candidates to disregard misinformation regarding the Group-1 exams, assuring them that the process is being conducted fairly under Government Order (GO) 29. "We issued the Group-1 notification as per GO 29, and candidates were selected for the mains based on merit, with a ratio of 1:50 from the preliminary exam results," he said. He criticized political parties for using the issue to divide and mislead candidates. "Certain parties, which did nothing for ten years, are now trying to provoke the unemployed for selfish political gain," Reddy claimed, urging candidates not to miss the opportunity to appear for the mains exams. The Chief Minister also requested that the police refrain from filing cases against unemployed individuals participating in protests, acknowledging their future role in Telangana's development as Group-1 officers...////...
