PM Modi to visit Poland Aug 21-22, first visit by an Indian PM in over 40 years

New Delhi, Aug 19 (Reporter) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a visit to Poland on August 21-22, at the invite of Polish PM Donald Tusk. It is the first visit by an Indian PM to Poland in over 40 years and the visit will mark 70 years of diplomatic ties. Announcing the visit of PM Modi, MEA Secretary West Tanmaya Lal said that PM Modi will be accorded a ceremonial welcome after his arrival, after which he will hold talks with PM Tusk. PM Modi will also call on President Andrzej Duda of Poland. The PM will also interact with the Indian diaspora and Indologists during his stay. “It is a historic visit in a landmark year. It will provide an opportunity to review the bilateral partnership and for enhancing the cooperation in diverse areas of mutual interest,” Secretary West Lal said. India and Poland share a long-standing friendly relations marked by high level political contacts and vibrant economic engagement. The bilateral relations are wide-ranging and mutually beneficial.
