PM Modi spoke in Argentina for Lithium block, and other countries for critical minerals: Union Minister Reddy

Jaipur, July 7 (Reporter) Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy said here today that the availability of critical minerals is an issue and effort are being made to address it. In brief chat with media after a review meeting on mining related issues at the CM Residence here, the Union Minister said "Presently 90 per cent of requirement and demand of these minerals is fulfilled by imports. Efforts have been made at the highest level. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also held talks with some countries in this connection," Reddy said, adding that in his Argentina visit two days back PM Modi has discussed with authorities there, the issue of a Lithium block for India. Reddy also expressed the need of adopting new model of infrastructure in the renewable energy sector. He also appreciated Rajasthan Chief Minister for his approach of pursuing development and enrichment of ecology with growth of the economy. For this, Reddy said "Welfare society theme be adopted for local community development." Later, Minister Reddy and Chief Minister Sharma attended the felicitation ceremony held by the Indian Bureau of Mining, for awarding 7-star and 7-star rated mines at the Rajasthan International Centre here...////...
