Hyderabad, June 25 (Reporter) Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Senior Vice President G Niranjan demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi apologize to the people for the poor quality of Ram Mandir construction work. Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, Niranjan criticized PM Modi for conducting the ‘pranapratishtha’ ceremony of the Bala Ram idol at Ayodhya on January 22, 2024, with much publicity and fanfare, despite the construction being incomplete. He expressed shock that rainwater was leaking into the shrine, a matter disclosed by the head priest of the temple, Acharya Jitender Das. Niranjan stated that the rainwater is flowing in front of the Ram Lalla statue where the priest sits and where VIPs stand for darshan. He alleged negligence in the temple's construction and inadequate arrangements for draining water from the premises. He highlighted that PM Modi performed the Bhumi Puja on August 5, 2020, to start the construction work, and later conducted the ‘pranapratishtha’ ceremony on January 22, 2024, to inaugurate the temple before the elections, disregarding advice from eminent scholars of Agama Shastra not to proceed with the ceremony before the construction was complete. Niranjan also mentioned that Laxmikant Dixit, who organized the pranapratishtha program, passed away recently, and the rainwater leakage from the temple gopuram occurred on Monday. He criticized PM Modi for stopping his speech at an election campaign rally in Nalbari, Assam, on Sri Ram Navami day (April 20, 2024), to announce a miracle at the Ayodhya Bala Ram Mandir, where sunlight would appear on the forehead of Bhagavan Bala Ram. Niranjan demanded that Modi take responsibility for the hurried completion of the construction work for political gain and apologize to the people for the poor quality of work and water leakage into the shrine. Temple Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Mishra stated in Ayodhya that the first floor of the temple would be completed by the end of July, with the entire construction finished by December. Niranjan accused Modi of committing a grave misdemeanour by constructing the temple with an ulterior motive of benefiting in the elections and urged him to apologize to the people of India and the devotees of Ram for his misdeed...////...
