Wilmington/New Delhi, Sep 21 (Reporter) Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden exchanged a warm hug and a close handshake ahead of holding bilateral talks at the personal residence of the US President.
As PM Modi’s limousine arrived at the personal residence of the US President in Greenville, Wilmington, in Delaware, President Biden was waiting in the portico to welcome the Indian Prime Minister.
The two shared a warm embrace, and a handshake after which President Biden held PM Modi’s hand and led him inside his house where the two stood and talked in a balcony with a sprawling lake in the background.
Their bilateral lasted for over an hour.
The Modi-Biden bilateral meeting precedes the Quad Summit later in the day.
The MEA spokesperson said in post on X:
“A warm and special beginning to an important visit.
“In a special gesture @POTUS Joe Biden hosts PM @narendramodi
at his residence.
“PM @narendramodi warmly received by @POTUS
Joe Biden at Greenville, Delaware ahead of their bilateral meeting.”
