Chennai, May 20 (Reporter) Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the passing away of eminent nuclear scientist M R Srinivasan and hailed him as a stalwart of India's nuclear energy programme. In his message, Mr Modi said Dr Srinivasan's instrumental role in developing critical nuclear infrastructure has been foundational that ensured India becoming self-reliant in the energy sector. "Deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. MR Srinivasan, a stalwart of India's nuclear energy program", the Prime Minister posted on X. "His instrumental role in developing critical nuclear infrastructure has been foundational to our being self-reliant in the energy sector. He is remembered for his inspiring leadership of the Atomic Energy Commission", Mr Modi said.
