Windhoek/New Delhi, July 9 (Reporter) Prime Minister Narendra Modi emplaned for home after concluding a highly productive and successful five-nation visit to Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil and Namibia.
The MEA spokesperson said in a post on X:
“A highly productive & successful 5-nation tour to Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil and Namibia concludes.
“PM @narendramodi has emplaned for New Delhi.”
Earlier, PM Modi expressed gratitude for the honour of being asked to address the Namibian Parliament, to speak on India-Namibia friendship, India’s bond with Africa and India’s efforts for global good.
In his address, the PM highlighted that India and Namibia share strong democratic ideals and values.
He recalled the legacy of Dr. Sam Nujoma, the founding father of Namibia, and mentioned that at the heart of the historic India-Namibia relations are the people of the two countries.
“Charting the goal for future of the India-Namibia partnership, PM emphasised that India will walk hand in hand with Namibia and in solidarity with the Global South,” the MEA said.
The PM was also awarded Namibia's highest civilian honour - Order of the Most Ancient Welwitschia Mirabilis. He is the first Indian leader to be given this award.
