New York/New Delhi, Sep 22 (Reporter) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced that India will open two new consulates in the US, in Boston and Los Angeles.
Addressing the over 15,000 capacity Indian diaspora crowd at the Nassau Coliseum in New York’s Long Island, PM Modi said that last time he had announced that a new consulate would be opened in Seattle, in keeping with the diaspora’s wishes.
“India has decided to open two new consulates, one in Boston and another in Los Angeles,” he said to loud cheering.
He also announced that India will set up a Thiruvalluvar Chair of Tamil Studies in Houston University.
"I am also happy to announce the establishment of the Thiruvalluvar Chair of Tamil Studies at the
University of Houston. This will further help in spreading the philosophy of the great Tamil saint Thiruvalluvar to the world,” the PM said...////...
