PF, gratuity yet to be paid to ST employees: Maha minister

Mumbai, Mar 12 (Reporter) Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik on Wednesday informed the Maharashtra Assembly that amount of provident fund and gratuity of State Transport employees are yet to be paid. Replying to the issue of Employees Provident Fund raised by the members Anil Parab of Shiv Sena (UBT) and Shashikant Shinde of NCP (Sharad Pawar) in the lower house, he said, “An amount of Rs 2,214.47 crore of PF and gratuity is yet to be paid. We will pay it as per the availability of funds." He further said, “In the meantime, the ST workers went on strike. Even so, we have given a salary hike to the employees. On other hand, we have not received a single complaint regarding the provident fund. At the same time, no amount of the fund will be spent on the salaries of the employees in this way in the future." Sarnaik said, "The Corporation has a monthly deficit of Rs 64 crore. Also, we are yet to receive Rs 582 crore from the government and Rs 268 crore from the Manav Vikas Yojana. That is why this situation has arisen today. However, I assure everyone that there has been no loss in the interest amount on the PF of the employees. Their interest is being deposited. ... No employee's provident fund has been spent anywhere else," he added...////...
