Mumbai, May 27 (Reporter) Fuel prices in Maharashtra held steady on Tuesday, with both petrol and diesel rates showing little movement amid ongoing fluctuations in global crude oil markets.
The latest prices, announced at 6 AM, continue to be closely monitored by consumers as fuel costs remain a key indicator of inflation in the state.
According to official data, petrol prices remain above 104 per litre in most cities. Ahmednagar recorded petrol at 104.89 per litre, Aurangabad at 105.18, and several cities—including Hingoli, Jalna, Latur, Nanded, Parbhani, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and Yavatmal—at 105.50 per litre. Mumbai City continues to offer a comparatively lower rate at 103.50 per litre.
Diesel prices have also remained largely unchanged, averaging 91.42 per litre across Maharashtra. Mumbai City posted the lowest diesel rate at 90.03 per litre, while rates in Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, and several other districts ranged from 91.40 to 92.03 per litre.
The highest diesel price in May was 92.12 per litre, while the lowest was 90.03 per litre, reflecting only minor fluctuations throughout the month.
Fuel prices in Maharashtra are revised daily at 6 AM, based on international crude oil prices, the rupee’s exchange rate, and other market factors. Local taxes, VAT, and transportation charges also contribute to city-wise variations.
Despite global volatility, the state has not seen any sharp spikes in fuel rates this month, offering some relief to consumers.
Authorities advise citizens to check the latest prices in their respective cities before refuelling, as rates may vary slightly due to local levies. The continued stability in fuel prices is attributed to the dynamic pricing system, which ensures timely adjustments in line with market trends...////...
