Patna, Apr 5 (Reporter) Former MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav on Friday said he will not withdraw his candidature and remain in the fray for Lok Sabha elections in Purnea seat.
Yadav told media persons that he had filed his nomination papers from the Purnea seat as an Independent. He had the blessings of top Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, he claimed.
" People of Purnea have given me so much love and affection and I will do everything for them", the former MP said adding that he had served the people during the pandemic and floods in Patna in 2019 without making any difference based on caste and religion ", former MP said adding that his ambition was to make Purnea and seem anchal area, number one in the world. He was not so concerned for Patna and New Delhi, he remarked.
Yadav did not give a direct reply to a suggestion made by Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) President Akhilesh Singh that he should withdraw his nomination papers. Akhilesh was like his brother and he would have made good suggestions, he quipped.
