Karak (Pak), Jan 11 (Reporter) At least 12 people were killed and 25 others wounded in a horrible road mishap on Saturday at Ambeeri Chowk in Karak, media reports said.
According to Karak Deputy Commissioner Shakeel Jan Marwat confirmed the report, saying the accident took place for trailer’s brake failure, causing it to ram into a passenger coach and several other vehicles on the Indus Highway. Emergency responders rushed the injured to nearby hospitals, where they are receiving treatment.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has taken notice of the incident and sought its details. He instructed the health department to provide urgent medical aid to the injured and tasked Hilal-e-Ahmar teams to carry out relief activities at the Ambeeri Chowk. Additionally, the governor urged PPP workers to assist in relief activities and donate blood to aid the victims, according to a report by Geo News.
PPP Senator Sherry Rehman expressed grief over the loss of lives and urged the local government as well as district administration to ensure provision of the best possible relief facilities to the victims.
