Quetta (Pakistan), Nov 9 (Reporter) At least 21 people were killed and more than 50 injured in a powerful explosion at Quetta Railway Station early Saturday morning, an official said.
The blast occurred on the platform as passengers gathered for the departure of the Jaffar Express, scheduled to depart for Peshawar at 9:00 am, the Express Tribune reported.
Police confirmed the explosion took place on the station’s platform, with a significant crowd present at the time.

Rescue and law enforcement teams responded immediately, securing the area and transporting the injured and deceased to Civil Hospital Quetta, according to media reports.
In the aftermath, an emergency was declared at the hospital, and additional medical personnel, including doctors and paramedics, were summoned to handle the crisis.
Among the victims are women and children, according to the Medical Superintendent at Civil Hospital, who reported that 46 of the wounded were brought to the hospital for urgent treatment.
SSP Operations Muhammad Baloch suggested that initial findings point to a possible suicide bombing, noting that the explosion hit when passenger numbers on the platform were high.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti condemned the attack, ordering an immediate investigation and labeling the incident as "a horrific act targeting innocent civilians."
He noted that terrorists are increasingly aiming at ordinary civilians, laborers, women, and children, and vowed that those responsible would be pursued relentlessly.
