Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Tuesday launched the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign following the Cabinet meeting held in memory of Raja Bhabhut Singh at Pachmarhi in Narmadapuram district. Remembering Raja Bhabhut Singh’s valour, sacrifice, and courage, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav visited Raja Bhabhut Singh Udyan and planted a mango sapling in his mother’s name, conveying a strong message of environmental conservation. The Chief Minister remarked that Pachmarhi is a magnificent gift of nature and affirmed that the government will make continuous efforts for its holistic development.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Jagdish Devda and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla also joined the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign by planting mango saplings in honour of their mothers. Other ministers of the state government were also present and contributed to the campaign by planting saplings, giving it a heartfelt and meaningful expression.
It is noteworthy that the garden, previously known as Bal Udyan, has now been renamed Raja Bhabhut Singh Udyan by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, in tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the valiant Raja Bhabhut Singh.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the torch of patriotism ignited by Raja Bhabhut Singh in his fight against the British is both unique and deeply inspiring. He added that, in line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Virasat Se Vikas’ (Development through Heritage), the state government is honouring the great heroes of the freedom struggle and ensuring their invaluable contributions are remembered and passed on to the people.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav described Pachmarhi as a magnificent natural heritage site with ancient roots, and said that the heroic legacy of warriors like Raja Bhabhut Singh lives on in Satpura ki Rani—Pachmarhi. He announced that on the 14th, 15th, and 16th of June, a practice session will be organized in Pachmarhi with all MLAs and MPs. During this session, a comprehensive roadmap for the development of the Pachmarhi region will also be formulated.
