Itanagar, Apr 6 (Reporter) While enforcing election model code of conduct (MCC) in Arunachal Pradesh, the law enforcement agencies deployed to curb unlawful activities including use of money and promising freebies during elections, on Saturday seized over Rs 21 lakh in cash in two separate incidents in the state.
The flying squads and static surveillance teams confiscated Rs 15.72 lakh cash in East Kameng district and another Rs 5.35 lakh in Kurung Kumey district, an election official said while referring to updated information available with the office of the Chief Electoral Officer.
He also said that during the day, the FSTs and SSTs have seized over 9,500 litres of liquor worth more than Rs 1.39 lakh in various parts of the State, and 89 gram illicit drugs worth Rs 6.23 lakh in Papum Pare district.
The total amount of seized cash and other items accounted for over Rs 28.78 lakh, he added...////...
