Paris, Jan 27 (Reporter) More than 70,000 farmers in France took part in large-scale protests throughout the country due to dissatisfaction with the government policy, with over 41,000 tractors involved, the French National Federation of Agricultural Holders' Unions (FNSEA) said in a statement on X Friday. Earlier, FNSEA President Arnaud Rousseau said that the farmers' protests would spread to 85 of the 96 departments of metropolitan France by Friday. BFMTV reported Friday that farmers on tractors blocked traffic on a number of key highways leading to Paris. Since last Thursday, farmers in France have been blocking highways and dumping manure and waste in front of government buildings across the country.
