Patna, Feb 28 (Reporter)The opening day of the month long budget session of Bihar Legislature was adjourned for the day on Friday after the joint session addressed by Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and making obituary references to the departed souls who passed away during the intervening period. Addressing the joint session, the Governor elaborated the achievements, works of the state government in detail and outlined the future strategies. After the joint session, both Upper and Lower Houses met separately during which the names of presiding officers were announced in both of the houses and business advisory committees were constituted separately for the budget session. The Economic Survey for the financial year 2024-25 was laid separately in both of the houses. Earlier welcoming the members of the house, Bihar assembly speaker Nand Kishor Yadav appealed to the members to co-operate in maintaining dignity of the house and for finding solutions to the issues of common concern. In his welcome address, Bihar Legislative Council Chairman Awadhesh Narayan Singh appealed to the members to discharge their responsibilities to maintain the dignity of the house. Later both of the houses paid homage separately to those who passed away during the intervening period.
