Tokyo, Mar 4 (Reporter) A fishing boat with 25 crew members on board ran aground off one of Izu Islands, south of Tokyo, leaving one missing, local media reported on Monday.
A search for the missing Japanese crew member was underway Monday after the man apparently fell into the sea from the 379-ton tuna fishing boat, Kyodo News said, citing the Japan Coast Guard.
The 56 meter-long vessel reportedly began to malfunction due to an engine problem at around 5 p.m. local time on Sunday.
Shortly before 5 a.m. local time on Monday, the captain notified the authority that the boat was tilting and a crew member was missing after he fell overboard, the report said.
The remaining 24 aboard, 20 Indonesians and four Japanese, were later rescued by helicopter...////...
