New Delhi Feb 8 (Reporter) At least one person died and four others were injured when a portion of the Gokulpuri metro station wall on Pink Line collapsed on Thursday, an official said.
According to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) official, the unfortunate incident took place at around 11 am, when a portion of the metro station wall collapsed and fell on the road. All those injured were rushed to a nearby hospital where one of them succumbed.
The official added that the debris was cleared immediately. Two DMRC officials from civil department have been suspended following the incident.
He further said DMRC has announced an ex gratia of Rs 15 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased, Rs 2.5 lakh for grievously injured and Rs 50,000 to those with minor injury.
He said train services on the small stretch from Maujpur to Shiv Vihar are being run on single line to attend to the fallen portion towards Up platform on Gokulpuri station which has also been temporarily closed...////...
