Puri, May 28 (Reporter) The Puri district administration has demolished an illegal water sports facility operating in the Baliapanda area of Puri beach. The facility, operating under the name “Sky Dive Adventure and Water Sports,” was offering speedboat rides and skydiving experiences to tourists without proper authorisation or safety measures. The action follows a mishap that occurred last Saturday, when a speedboat overturned, throwing all passengers into the sea. Among them were Snehasis Ganguly, brother of cricketer Sourav Ganguly, and his wife, Arpita. Fortunately, both were rescued by lifeguards and later returned safely to Kolkata. Following the incident, the administration launched an investigation and found that the facility lacked adequate safety provisions for its users.
