Lucknow, Nov 24 (Reporter) Alleging bogus voting through electronic voting machines (EVMs) in the Uttar Pradesh assembly by-elections Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Sunday said that her party will not contest by-elections in future.
Mayawati said that earlier reports of fake voting were received through ballot papers, but now bogus fake voting has started happening through electronic voting machines as well, so her party has decided that it will not participate in any by-election in future.
She said that her party will register its presence among the people with full force in the Lok Sabha, assembly and civic elections.
On the question of not contesting the by-elections, the BSP supremo said that she feels that in by-elections, the government machinery is completely under the influence of the ruling party, whereas it is not so in general elections because the government machinery feels that if the opposition party comes to power, it may prove to be harmful for them, so in general elections, the government machinery mostly does not stand in favour of dishonesty.
She said that BSP is the only party that always stands in favour of Dalits and deprived society. "After forming a government with full majority in UPin the 2007 assembly elections, casteist parties like Congress and BJP felt that BSP is the only party that can form its government at the centre as well," she said.
Mayawati alleged, "So they created many casteist parties doing selfish politics and now their leaders who pretend to be the leaders of Dalits are seen going for election campaign in a convoy of many vehicles, but the entire society has to understand that BSP is its only well-wisher, so such parties have to be sidelined and people will have to vote in favour of BSP so that casteist parties can get a befitting reply."
It may be noted that in the by-elections held on nine seats in UP, the deposit of BSP candidates was forfeited on seven seats. In Kundarki seat of Moradabad, where 1.5 lakh polling was done, the BSP candidate got only 1051 votes.
BSP has almost reached the margins in UP. There is only one MLA left in the assembly. There is zero in Lok Sabha and Legislative Council. There is only one seat left in Rajya Sabha...////...
