Lucknow, June 15, (Reporter) Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said that Uttar Pradesh Police has not only made the recruitment process fair and merit-based, but has also set a new record by providing opportunities to the youth of every caste, district, and tehsil.
After distributing appointment letters to 60,244 newly appointed police personnel at a grand ceremony held at Defence Expo Ground, Sector 18, Vrindavan Yojana, Lucknow, the Union Minister praised UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the transparent and inclusive recruitment process.
He said that under the leadership of Yogi, UP Police has not only made the recruitment process fair and merit-based but has also set a new record by providing opportunities to the youth of every caste, district, and tehsil. "In these appointments, there was no discrimination based on slip, recommendation, and caste, but the entire process was completed transparently and based on merit.
Shah said that UP Police is the largest police force in the country, and today 60,244 youth are becoming an integral part of it. He termed this day as the most auspicious day in the life of the newly appointed personnel and said that this is a moment of pride.
He said that these include more than 12,000 daughters, seeing the happiness on their faces, he got immense relief. He said that 100 percent benefit of reserved posts for women has been ensured in UP, which is a major achievement of the Yogi government.
Discussing the changes in UP after 2017, the Union Minister said that the law and order of UP had been continuously deteriorating since independence, but after the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath in 2017, the UP Police started touching new heights. He said that Yogi has started a transformative era by taking schemes like industrial development, education, law and order, infrastructure, electricity, and tap water to the people.
He stressed that UP is no longer a stronghold of riots, but has become riot-free, and the orders of goons no longer work. He called upon the newly appointed personnel to further strengthen this tradition.
The Union Home Minister laid special emphasis on the transparency of the recruitment process. He said that the use of technology, such as cameras, control rooms, command centres, PCR vans, and more than 150 on-wheel forensic science lab vans, has made the process more fair.
He claimed that none of the 60,244 youth had to pay a bribe of even a penny, which is the biggest achievement of any government. He said that this recruitment process was not only transparent, but the representation of every section and region was ensured in it.
Shah also discussed the efforts made towards the modernisation of the police force in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that with the implementation of new laws like the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, such a system will be created in the country in the next five years, in which justice from any FIR to the Supreme Court will be available within three years.
He said, "Apart from this, technologies like CCTNS (Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems), ICJS (Inter-operable Criminal Justice System), and forensic science have further strengthened the police system."
The Union Home Minister highlighted the economic and social progress of the country in his address. He said that in the last 11 years, 25 crore people have come out of the poverty line and 60 crore people have benefited from schemes like gas cylinders, toilets, tap water, free treatment, and financial assistance to farmers.
He said that in 2014, India was the 11th largest economy in the world, but today it is in fourth place, and by 2027, it will reach third place. He said that the Modi government has provided opportunities to every youth with steps like metro trains in more than 143 cities, more than 150 airports, and a new education policy.
Shah also discussed the government's strict policy against Naxalism and terrorism. He said that Naxalism, which was spread in 11 states, is now limited to only three districts, and India will be completely Naxal-free by March 31, 2026.
He said that the Modi government has also taken a tough stand against terrorism. He said that Pakistan attempted terrorist attacks thrice, but India gave a befitting reply every time and destroyed the terrorist hideouts. Referring to Operation Sindoor, he said that the Indian Air Force destroyed the terrorist headquarters.
The Minister told the newly appointed personnel that they are becoming a part of the UP Police in Amrit Kaal, and by 2047, when India will be ranked first in the world, UP's contribution will be the biggest. He called upon the youth to move forward with the mantra of security, service, and sensitivity.
He said that the fear of UP Police should be tough on goons and mafias, but for the poor, backward, and tribal communities, the police should be seen as a messiah.
Shah also mentioned cultural and social reforms like the consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, revival of Vishwanath Dham in Kashi, abolition of triple talaq, and new Waqf law. He said that India created history by reaching the south pole of the moon, and that place was named Shiv Shakti.
He called upon the newly appointed personnel of UP Police to serve wholeheartedly. He said that it is a matter of pride to be a part of this police force of about four lakh members. He thanked Yogi Adityanath once again and said that his transparent and inclusive policies have taken the UP Police to new heights.
Shah distributed appointment letters to Satyam Nayak, Prem Sagar, Shalini Shakya, Upendra Kumar Yadav, Shilpa Singh, Dinu Babu, Yogendra Singh, Shivansh Patel, Manish Tripathi, Roshan Jahan, Azad Kushwaha, Mithilesh Bhatt, Soni Rawat, Neha Gond, and Sachin Saini.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, BJP State President Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh, Ministers, Chief Secretary, DGP, Police Officers and 60,244 newly appointed constables becoming part of UP Police related to 826 development blocks and 762 municipal bodies of all 75 districts were present...////...
