Nitish launches water supply scheme worth Rs 7166.06 crore

Patna, Mar 18 (Reporter) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday launched the supply of tap water to every household scheme named " Har Ghar Nal ka Jal " worth Rs 7166.06 crore. Kumar launched the "Har Ghar Nal ka Jal" scheme worth Rs 7166.06 crore through remote control from his official residence. He also laid the foundation stone of a building of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) being constructed at an expense of Rs 83 crore. The chief minister directed the authorities concerned on the occasion to implement the scheme within the stipulated time frame. It was the commitment of the government to ensure the availability of safe drinking water to every household without any difficulty, he added. Principal Secretary of PHED Pankaj Kumar informed the Chief Minister that drinking water was being made available on the basis of 70 litres per head per day to every household under the scheme.
