Lucknow, Nov 29 (Reporter) The newly elected MLAs of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its ally Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), who won the by-elections of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, took the oath of office and secrecy in the premises of the Vidhan Bhavan on Friday.
Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana administered the oath to all the winning candidates. In the swearing-in ceremony, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated the winning candidates and called it a victory for the development of the state and the faith of the people.
The newly elected MLAs who took oath include Ramveer Singh from Kundarki, Deepak Patel from Phulpur, Surendra Singh from Khair, Sanjeev Sharma from Ghaziabad, Dharmaraj Nishad from Katehari, Suchismita Maurya from Majhawan and RLD's Mithlesh Pal from Meerapur. All these candidates thanked the trust and support of the people and talked about giving priority to the development of their area.
After the swearing-in ceremony, Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana addressed the newly elected members and said that it is a matter of pride to be a member of the UP Legislative Assembly. "You have got an opportunity to serve the public. If you go among the public with the work of the Chief Minister, you will win every time. You have two and a half years, spend as much of it among the public as possible. Along with this, your presence should also be seen in the Assembly. Your performance here will go as a message of your activism among the public," he said.
