Kathmandu, July 9 (Reporter) 78 people have died in floods and landslides caused by continuous rain in various parts of Nepal, resulting in a physical loss exceeding Rs 100 million, media sources said on Tuesday.
According to the police, from June 10 to this morning, 90 people have been injured and five have gone missing due to flooding and landslides in various parts of the country, The Kathmandu Post reported.
Several incidents have resulted in the deaths of 381 cattle, the destruction of 98 cowsheds, and the displacement of 595 houses, necessitating the mobilization of 54,000 police personnel for disaster management, the police said.
Floods and landslides have severely damaged a school, two government office buildings, 41 bridges, 161 houses, and 116 acres of land, the reports said.
The continuous rains have led to 1,028 disaster-related incidents, resulting in losses of Rs 101,885,700, media reports further added...////...
