NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal takes oath as Maharashtra cabinet minister

Mumbai, May 20 (Reporter) Senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal was on Tuesday inducted into the Maharashtra Cabinet of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Seventy seven year old Bhujbal took oath as a Minister at the Raj Bhavan. Fadnavis, and Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar were present during the oath-taking ceremony. Following his swearing-in, Bhujbal commented, “As it is said, ‘all’s well that ends well’. I have held many key positions, from the home ministry to various other departments. Whatever responsibility is assigned to me now, I will accept. It’s the Chief Minister’s prerogative.” Shinde welcomed Bhujbal’s induction into the cabinet, highlighting his vast administrative experience. “He has previously served as a minister and handled important departments. He is a seasoned leader, and the state will benefit from his insights and leadership,” Shinde said. The veteran leader and prominent OBC face in Maharashtra did not find a place in the ministry when Devendra Fadnavis took over a chief minister last December. Now, Bhujbal has replaced NCP's Dhananjay Munde who resigned in March over the alleged role of his aide in the murder of sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh.
