Srinagar, Oct 27(Reporter) Security forces detained National Conference (NC) leader and Jammu and Kashmir legislator Bashir Ahmad Veeri at Srinagar Airport after live ammunition was found in his luggage on Sunday, sources said. Veeri, who won the recent Assembly election from the Bijbehara constituency on NC ticket, was heading to Jammu when he was stopped at a routine security checkpoint, where two live rounds were found in his baggage. He was immediately detained and questioned. The authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the matter, they said. However, sources said Veeri was released after he showed the licence of his pistol Veeri did not respond on the phone when he was contacted by UNI.
