Kanker (Chhattisgarh), June 20 (Reporter) A Naxalite was killed in an encounter between the police and Naxalites in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh on Friday morning, police said. Senior Superintendent of Police Indira Kalyan Elisela said that an encounter was underway between police and Naxalites in the Chhotebethia area. She said the exact number of Naxalites killed would be confirmed after the police personnel return. According to a police statement, a joint team of District Reserve Police and Border Security Force personnel were on patrol in the jungle near the Gosali river, following a tip-off about the presence of Naxalites.
