Kolhapur, June 28 (Reporter) State Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar said that the National Education Policy had been implemented only in Maharashtra during the tenure of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. In a press conference here this evening, Shelar said that in democracy every one has the right to express their thoughts and to take its own decisions. In the state, Marathi was mandatory and Hindi is available as an alternative along with other languages. Shelar said that the three-language formula has come only after the steering committee and the study of language experts. Actually the then Congress had introduced this formula in 1965, which benefited the students, though there were differences on this issue now, he added. On opposition over the proposed Shaktipeeth highway, Shelar said that the government would take a decision after discussing with the affected farmers for the development...////...
