Myanmar quake affects 1,700 people in neighboring Chinese province - Reports

Beijing, Mar 29 (Reporter) Over 1,700 people in the southwestern Chinese province of Yunnan were affected by a 7.7-magnitude earthquake that hit Myanmar on Friday, the state-run Chinese television channel CCTV reported. The quake hit 458 households in the border district of Ruili totaling 1,705 people. Two people were injured. Several high-rise buildings and old houses were damaged. Water and power supply, public transport, and telecom services were disrupted. The tremor was felt in five countries neighboring Myanmar. Myanmar Prime Minister Min Aung Hlaing said that at least 144 people died in the disaster.
