MVA to announce allocation of seats in couple of days: MPCC chief

Mumbai, Mar 21 (Reporter) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Nana Patole said on Thursday that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) will announce its decision on allocation of seats and candidates in next two to three days. Addressing a press conference at the party head office, he informed that talks on seat sharing have been held with allied parties like Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA), Samajwadi Party (SP) and CPI(M). While, the Congress party has almost decided on its candidates, he further informed. The MPCC chief further said that he and Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut held discussions with NCP (Sharad Pawar) president Sharad Pawar this morning, while NCP state president Jayant Patil held talks with VBA chief Prakash Ambedkar. Since MVA will be contesting all 48 seats in the state, the final decision will be taken after holding talks with all the friends of the alliance, he said. Coming down heavily on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Patole alleged that it has ruined the country in last 10 years. He accused BJP of acting arbitrarily in defiance of principles of democracy and the Constitution. In such a situation, the goal is to strengthen MVA and pull down the tyrannical BJP government from power, he asserted. He also accused BJP of distorting the word Shakti. "When women are being oppressed in Manipur, when women are being oppressed all over the country, why BJP and (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi did not remember Nari Shakti," he asked. Arguing that there is no need to conduct polls in five phases in Maharashtra, Patole said that since BJP is scared, polling is being conducted in five phases in the state, he added...////...
