Hyderabad, Oct 22 (Reporter) Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Chinta Mohan praised the Musi River beautification project proposed by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, calling it an excellent initiative. However, he urged the Chief Minister to seek advice from experts before proceeding with the project. Speaking to the media, here on Tuesday, Chinta Mohan mentioned that a delegation, including Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, is currently visiting Seoul, South Korea, to gather firsthand information on similar projects. He also advised the Chief Minister to consider the welfare of the poor people living in the Musi River's catchment areas. "I appreciate Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's vision for the Musi River project, but he should consult experts and also listen to the opinions of senior leaders and stakeholders," Mohan said. Turning to other issues, Mohan addressed the categorization of Scheduled Castes, calling it a national issue. He urged the government to handle the matter with sensitivity and not to rush into decisions that could impact the integrity of the country. Commenting on the Congress party's recent defeat in Haryana, Mohan attributed the loss to overconfidence, but also alleged that tampering of electronic voting machines (EVMs) played a role. "We have evidence of EVM tampering. We should consider returning to the ballot system, like in the United States," he stated, accusing the BJP-led NDA government of attempting to manipulate EVMs in regions where the opposition is weak. Mohan also criticized Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for making false statements regarding the ingredients used in the famous Tirumala Laddu. He clarified that no non-vegetarian oil is used in its preparation, but noted that a mix of vegetarian oils, including dalda, is involved.
