Murmu to inaugurate ICAR, NEHs golden jubilee celebrations in Meghalaya

Shillong, Jan 6 (Reporter) President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the golden jubilee celebrations of Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) for North-Eastern Hills Region at Umiam in Meghalaya’s Ri-Bhoi district on January 9, an ICAR official said on Monday. Meghalaya Governor Chandrashekhar H. Vijayashankar, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan will also attend the golden jubilee celebrations. The President will also inaugurate the farmers’ expo which will be participated by farmers and selfhelp groups from across the seven northeastern states and Sikkim. She would also interact with the progressive farmers at the expo . ICAR Research Complex for North-Eastern Hills Region, a premier research institute, was established in January 9, 1975 to cater to the research needs of the tribal areas of the region. The institute has been promoting and conducting research, extension and human resource development activities in agriculture and allied sectors for hilly and mountain ecosystem of North Eastern Hill Region...////...
