Belagavi, July 7 (Reporter) BJP MP and former Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar on Sunday flayed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over alleged irregularities in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment, which reportedly benefited Siddaramaiah’s wife. Shettar demanded that the CM resign immediately.
Speaking to reporters, Shettar explained that there is a provision to allot sites to landowners on a 50:50 basis when their land is acquired for residential layouts. This rule encourages landowners to part with their land. However, in Mysuru, denotified land was sold, leading to a multi-crore scam that Shettar believes should be investigated by the CBI.
Shettar also referenced B Nagendra, who resigned as the Minister for Tribal Welfare after a scam in the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation Limited was uncovered. He insisted that Siddaramaiah should similarly resign and face a probe.
Addressing Goa’s latest objections to the Mahadayi project, Shettar noted that the inspection process has begun and the tribunal has awarded 13 TMCFT of water to Karnataka, allowing work on the project to commence. Despite these orders, the Goa government continues to raise objections to stall the project. Shettar asserted that the project should proceed as per the tribunal’s orders...////...
