Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav held an important meeting in Madrid with Shri Juan-Manuel Guimeráns, President of the Spanish Film Commission and other representatives on the first day of his visit to Spain. The discussions explored vast opportunities for collaboration in film production between India and Spain.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed during the meeting to promote film co-production that would creatively and commercially benefit both countries. The MoU encourages Spanish filmmakers to explore shooting locations in Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav invited Spanish production companies to shoot in Madhya Pradesh, highlighting the state's diverse landscapes, supportive government policies, and film-friendly environment. He also presented a token of honor to Shri Juan-Manuel Guimeráns during the meeting.
The Spanish Film Commission shared details about the various incentives, subsidies, and facilities available to foreign film productions in Spain, aimed at fostering future cooperation. Dr. Yadav showcased Madhya Pradesh’s scenic and versatile locations along with the state’s proactive film policies, making it an ideal destination for international productions. He also invited Spanish filmmakers to conduct location scouting visits to the state.
The discussions also covered potential alignment between the film policies of India and Spain, and ways to simplify the co-production process. Both sides explored the possibility of organizing joint film festivals, workshops, and cultural events to deepen bilateral cultural exchange.
