Mott steps down as head coach of England Men's white-ball team

London, July 30 (Reporter) Matthew Mott leaves his role as the England Men's head coach after two years in the office. The ECB confirmed that Mott had stepped down from his role with immediate effect. Mott's last engagement at the helm was England's campaign in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, where the then-defending champions crashed out of the semi-finals after losing to India by 68 runs. After he was appointed in May 2022 as the head coach of the England Men's white-ball outfits, the 50-year-old Mott enjoyed immediate success, leading the team to their second Men's T20 World Cup title in Australia in the autumn of 2022. Under his leadership, England achieved white-ball series victories against Australia, Bangladesh, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Pakistan. However, the side also delivered a disappointing performance in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023, where they finished 7th in the table with just three wins in nine matches, an ICC report said.
