Patna , Feb 24 (Reporter) Senior Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejaswi Prasad Yadav on Monday took a pot-shot at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he expresses concern for Bihar only during election year and later forgets his promises made to people of the state.
Yadav said people have valid and genuine questions for Modi regarding Bihar where NDA has been in power for the last 20 years.
Through his volley of questions related to the socio-economic situation and industrialisation, Yadav said Modi had promised to double the income of farmers by 2022 but their condition further deteriorated due to inflation and unemployment.
Highlighting the issues of agricultural labour, Yadav said that the income of peasants in Bihar was the lowest in the country.
He further said that the literacy and per capita investment were also the lowest in the state.
The leader of the opposition questioned why the state was not included in the PM Shri Mega Textile Park scheme and why the state was at the top in terms of poverty and unemployment during 20 years of NDA rule.
He asked the NDA leaders to explain why the special status was not accorded to Bihar and why the sugar factories of Motihari were still to be opened even after the promises made in 2014 for its revival.
Yadav said people want to know the fate of the moribund sugar factories of Madhubani, Saran, Gopalganj, Nawada, and Muzaffarpur. He questioned why the 65 percent reservation passed by the Bihar Government has not been included in the 9th schedule.
His questions were also related to the caste census at the National level, migration, and others.
In a satirical vein, Yadav said that Modi will remember Ganga Chhath, the festival, Mother Janki, Mahatma Buddh, Guru Gobind Singh, Socialist leader Karpoori Thakur, and other specialties of Bihar as this is an election year.
He alleged that during the long tenure of 20 years, the NDA failed to give anything concrete to Bihar and now the people have realised their "jumlas"...////...
