Chandigarh, Jan 18 (Reporter) Farmer leader Sarvan Singh Pandher on Saturday said the Union government should not treat farmers as citizens of an enemy country.
Ahead of a joint meeting of farmers' organisations at Patran, speaking to media, Pandher said Jagjit Singh Dallewal's fast unto death has entered 54th day.
He cited the news of ceasefire between Israel and Hamas as good news for human rights activists across the world and hoped that the Narendra Modi government will allow farmers on January 21
to go to New Delhi and protest peacefully, which is their democratic right.
"The government should not treat us as citizens of an enemy country," he hoped, saying that the farmers', labourers' problems should be solved by the government showing a big heart.
