Kangra, Feb 28 (Reporter) A mock drill was conducted at Gaggal airport in Kangra district to deal with emergency situations, a top airport official said on Friday. This exercise is conducted every two years, which tests the preparedness of the airport. Airport Director Dhirendra Singh told UNI that through this mock drill, a practical exercise was done to handle situations like emergency landing and crash. In this, rescue operations were successfully tested in collaboration with all local and government agencies. During the drill, the focus was mainly on aspects like extinguishing fire, helping the injured, evacuating passengers safely and checking the communication system. He said the fire department, medical service team, police administration, civil defence team and other agencies played an active role in the mock drill. During this, the emergency equipment present at the airport was also tested, so that they can be used correctly in case of a real crisis.
