Mexican President open to meeting Trump at G7

Mexico City, June 10 (Reporter) Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed Monday she will attend the Group of Seven (G7) summit in Canada and expects a meeting with her U.S. counterpart Donald Trump. At a daily press conference, Sheinbaum said Secretary of Foreign Affairs Juan Ramon de la Fuente is finalizing her bilateral meeting agenda with participating leaders. "I have decided I am going to the G7," said Sheinbaum, adding that "it is very likely" she will meet with Trump, their first meeting since she took office. Though the two leaders have yet to meet in person, they have held six phone calls to address the bilateral relationship amid tensions over tariffs, crime and immigration. Before the summit, Sheinbaum will meet with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau on Wednesday to discuss bilateral ties and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio's upcoming visit to Mexico...////...
