Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav extended his congratulations and best wishes to 1,158 couples who were united in marriage under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah / Nikah Yojana in the Pandhana block of Khandwa district. He remarked that such a large number of weddings taking place simultaneously is akin to setting a record. The mass wedding included both Hindu marriage and Nikah rituals and ceremonies, served as a remarkable example of social harmony.

Dr. Yadav emphasized that collective wedding events help curb unnecessary expenses and promote social unity. He virtually participated in the event from Samattva Bhavan at the Chief Minister’s residence.

The ceremony, held in Pandhana, was attended by Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Minister, as well as Horticulture and Food Processing Minister, Shri Narayan Singh Kushwaha. The event, organized at the Agricultural Produce Market in Pandhana, saw 1,158 couples tying the knot—1,137 through traditional Hindu wedding ceremonies and 21 through Nikah.

The Chief Minister highlighted that marriage is one of the 16 sacred sanskaras in Indian culture. He urged families to treat daughters-in-law with the same love and respect as their own daughters, and encouraged newlywed brides to consider their in-laws as their own parents, upholding family traditions.
