Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that there was a time when poor families fell into debt to marry off their daughters, but today, the government is ensuring their dignified weddings. Speaking at the Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah Sammelan in Kesla, Narmadapuram, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav noted that parents no longer mourn the birth of daughters but instead celebrate with joy. The Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojana has become a boon for daughters from underprivileged families, easing financial stress and fostering social change. Virtually addressing the event from his residence, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated 508 couples who tied the knot in the mass marriage, including a Kalyani (widow) and a specially-abled sister. He extended his best wishes to the newlyweds, reinforcing the government’s commitment to supporting women and empowering families.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that among the 16 sanskars of Sanatan culture, marriage is a vital one. He stated that each newlywed couple participating in the mass marriage ceremony is being provided Rs 49,000 as Mangalaashish. He highlighted that mass marriages are becoming a powerful medium of positive social change, promoting frugality and social harmony. In Indian tradition, marriage is not merely a compromise or agreement but a sacred bond that lasts for multiple lifetimes.
