Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is on the path to becoming a developed state. Speaking at a mass marriage ceremony organised under the Chief Minister Kanyadan Yojana at Pipalani village in Bherunda, Budhni constituency of Sehore district, he highlighted the growth of infrastructure under the leadership of Union Agriculture Minister and former Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The mass wedding included 572 couples from the regional Gond tribal community.

Dr. Yadav emphasised that mass marriages have transformed what was once a financial burden for poor families, especially farmers, into a dignified celebration supported by the state. Recalling the origins of the scheme, he noted how Shri Chouhan had initially arranged weddings for daughters of the underprivileged through voluntary contributions before the government institutionalised the program.

The Chief Minister said that these ceremonies not only reduce extravagant expenditures but also promote social unity and financial discipline. In Sanatan Dharma, marriage is not just a bond between bride and groom, but also a union of two families. He also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth ₹170.42 crore in the Budhni constituency. Projects include road networks, medical colleges, garment factories, and development works at Devlok in Salkanpur. He added that work on Devshri Jageshwar Mahadev Lok in Bandakpur, Damoh, has also commenced recently. Dr. Yadav reiterated his government’s commitment to continuing all initiatives launched by Shri Chouhan.
