Prayagraj, Feb 17 (Reporter) Many tents were gutted in a fire in Sector 8 of the world's largest spiritual and cultural gathering Maha Kumbh on Monday.
Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Pramod Sharma said that as soon as the information about the fire in an empty camp on Bajrangdas Marg in Sector 8 was received, several fire brigade vehicles immediately reached the spot and controlled the fire. He said that the site of the incident was cordoned off from all sides and people were prohibited from coming and going from the area.
He said that the devotees had vacated the camp and left. The immediate cause of the fire could not be ascertained.
It may be noted that since January 13, fire has broken out in the fair area for the fifth time. There was no loss of life in the accident. First of all, on January 19, a fire broke out in the camp of Geeta Press in Sector 19 in which many tents were burnt to ashes.
After that, on January 30, 15 tents were burnt in a fire in Sector 22. On February 7, a fire broke out at the camp located at Shankaracharya Marg in Sector 18 in which more than 15 tents were destroyed and on February 17, a fire broke out at the vacant camp at Bajrangdas Marg in Sector 8, which was extinguished in time...////...
