Kolkata, Apr 12 (Reporter) Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday hit out at BJP leader Amit Malviya after he claimed West Bengal has become a safe haven for terrorists following the arrest of two suspects from poll- bound East Medinipur. The National Investigation Agency (NIA), probing the blast case, arrested the two key accused, identified as Mussavir Hussain Shazib, and Adbul Matheen Taha, NIA said in a statement today. Mussavir Hussain Shazeb, a resident of Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district, was the mastermind, who carried out the blast, the anti-terror agency said after arresting the duo in the early hours from Contai on Friday. " Heard one BJP leader (Child) saying that Bengal is not safe, " Banerjee retorted. " The accused were hiding here for two hours and within two hours they were arrested due to a prompt response by our State police, " Banerjee asserted. " What about States where you are in power? What about Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Gujarat, Bihar?, " the ruling Trinamool Congress chairperson questioned. " (The ) People of Bengal want to live in peace but the BJP doesn't like this, " Banerjee concluded. BJP leader Amit Malviya in a post said, " NIA detains two chief suspects in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast, bomber Mussavir Hussain Shazib and accomplice Abdul Matheen Ahmed Taahaa, from Kolkata. Both likely belong to ISIS cells in Shivamogga, Karnataka. West Bengal, unfortunately, under Mamata Banerjee, has become a safe haven for terrorists, " Malviya, in-charge of BJP's National Information & Technology Dept. and co-incharge West Bengal, said on his X handle. " Well done @WBPolice in connection with the Bengaluru-cafe blast arrest. Even @NIA_India has acknowledged it in their statements. Any anti-forces should be strictly dealt with, " TMC spokesman Kunal Ghosh said. " But let me ask to @BJP4India and their minions - where is this arrests made from? KANTHI, " Ghosh asked. " We all know which family and BJP's main leader runs illegal activities from Contai.
