Imphal, July 19 (Reporter) In a series of significant operations, Manipur Police achieved multiple breakthroughs, underscoring their continued efforts to curb illegal activities and reinforce law and order across the state.
Police today said a large cache of ammunition was recovered from the Chingjao Island area, Pumlen Pat, under Arong Nongmaikhong Police Station, Kakching district. The seizure included 1,406 rounds of 9 mm ammunition, 125 rounds of .303 caliber bullets, and 7 blank cartridges yesterday.
In a separate operation, police arrested an active cadre of a group from Leimaram Lamkhai, Tiddim Road, under Nambol Police Station, Bishnupur district. The individual has been identified as Ajitkumar Singh alias Inaotomba, a resident of Leimaram Mamang Leikai, Bishnupur.
Meanwhile, in another swift operation, police apprehended two vehicle lifters near Kaleikhong Oil Pump, under Lilong Police Station, Thoubal district. The arrested individuals have been identified as Md. Achouba (of Lilong Sirinthong, and Md. Abdul Razak of Lilong Makha Leikai. A Rm motorcycle was recovered from their possession.
In a show of support and strategic oversight, the Director General of Police (DGP), Rajiv Singh, visited Churachandpur and Bishnupur districts yesterday. The DGP held review meetings with District Police Officers, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Manipur Police Service (MPS) probationers, Officer-in-Charges (OCs), Commando Units (CDOs), and women police personnel.
The visit concluded with a felicitation ceremony in Bishnupur, where the DGP Disc and Commendation certificates were awarded to deserving officers in recognition of their outstanding service and commitment...////...
