Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that it is the primary responsibility of collectors to maintain law and order as they are the administrative heads of districts and also the district magistrates. He asked that collectors and superintendents of police (SPs) to develop their own effective intelligence systems in their respective districts so that information about any incident or accident can be received immediately and timely action can be taken. He emphasized on reaching the spot without delay to prevent escalation and to help bring the situation under control.
He stressed the need for better coordination between collectors and SPs, urging them to jointly formulate strategies to monitor law and order. Sensitive areas where narrow roads pose difficulties for force movement should be identified, and a plan should be prepared within three months with the help of local municipal bodies to ensure easy access during emergencies.
