Ballia (UP) , Jan 3 (Reporter) Police on Friday arrested the main accused in the double murder case at a liquor shop in Narhi area of Ballia district here in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said here. Superintendent of Police (SP) Omveer Singh said that to arrest Shivam Rai, the main accused in the double murder case, that took place on January 1 night in Kotwa Narayanpur village of Narhi police station area of the district, police had cordoned off the area. He said that on being challenged main accused Shivam Rai fired at the police team. "The accused, who sustained bullet injury in the left leg in retaliatory firing has been admitted to the district hospital. Police have recovered the murder weapon, an axe, a pistol and cartridges from the accused," he said. It may be noted that on Wednesday night Prashant Gupta (23) and Golu Verma (24), both residents of Sikandarpur village, had gone to a liquor shop in Kotwa Narayanpur to buy beer.
