Mumbai, June 16 (Reporter) According to the Indian Meteorological Department on Monday, heavy to very heavy rainfall is anticipated in Mumbai as well as in the Konkan region, while red and orange alerts had been issued in Maharashtra.
The city has been experiencing heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms overnight till the early morning hours of June 16.
Clouds began to form yesterday evening, with rainfall commencing around midnight on June 15.
Civic authorities in Mumbai have issued warnings that "moderate to heavy rain is expected in certain areas of Mumbai City, Mumbai Suburbs, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg in the next 3 hours." Reports indicate that the secretariat in Mumbai advises citizens to stay vigilant.
The recent information from the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) states that heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places is very likely to occur in the districts of South Konkan-Goa.
