Nagpur, Mar 9 (Reporter) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Sunday that Maharashtra will achieve the goal of generating 52 percent of total energy generation in the state from non-conventional sources by the year 2030.
Speaking at laying of foundation stone of a 2 MW solar project at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur located in Mihan area, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set the goal of energy transition for the country.
Through this, the work of energy generation from environment-friendly and natural sources is going on in the country, he informed.
The Chief Minister said that IIM Nagpur has also taken a step forward in this regard and has decided to set up a solar power project.
While the foundation of this project is being laid, Net Zero, that is meeting our own energy needs, has started through non-conventional energy generation, he said and continued that it also aims at minimum or zero carbon emissions.
The state government has also started efforts to achieve the goal of energy transition by promoting energy generation from non-conventional energy sources.
He expressed that by the year 2030, 52 percent of energy generation in the state would be achieved through non-conventional energy sources, he added.
